Free connections

NoGate Artists is operated by NoGate Music, Virginia. Membership welcomes songwriters, musicians, bands, stores, venues, teachers, producers, managers, record companies, studios, and other music professionals. Membership and member-to-member contact are free for all member types. NoGate offers separately priced optional services and may introduce future business offerings; those do not change the free membership and contact described here. Joining, maintaining a profile, discovering artists, starting conversations, and replying are free. Optional services are separate and their prices are shown before you agree to work. Joining does not provide paid Studio credits or promise representation, employment, selection, or earnings.

Your profile

Membership is for adults 18 or older who are based in the United States or are authorized to represent a US-based music organization, including US territories. Company accounts must be managed by an authorized adult representative. NoGate Artists is available in the United States only, until further notice. Confirm your US base or the US base of the organization you represent when joining and saving your profile. Use that base for your profile location. This is a self-declaration, not identity or address verification. Verify your email and provide your name or organization name, city, US state or territory, private five-digit ZIP code, remote collaboration preference, specialties, and introduction before publication. Songwriters, musicians, vocalists, and bands must also provide genres and at least one playable recording. Stores, venues, and music professionals may publish without recordings. Identify your contribution to each audio/video example; disclose AI performances. Phone recordings are welcome. Managers, record companies, and other music professionals may provide a recorded introduction or an authorized example of work they represent; explain your actual role and obtain permission. Choose your primary member type and list additional roles in your profile.

Each profile permits 3 pictures, 3 audio recordings, and 3 videos. Your portrait uses one picture slot. Pictures: JPEG/PNG/WebP up to 5 MB; audio up to 25 MB and 10 minutes; video up to 75 MB and 5 minutes. Uploaded media is converted for safe display/playback; the original upload is removed after processing. You may remove and replace items. No downloads or original-file links are offered. Viewing and playback cannot guarantee prevention of recording or browser capture.

Keep it current

Confirm availability every 30 days. Reminder emails become eligible at days 30 and 40. A profile without confirmation for 45 days is hidden. Confirm availability and republish to return. “Taking a break” removes you from active discovery. Monthly recording replacement is not required. You may hide your profile yourself.

Permission and ownership

You retain your rights. Submit only material you have permission to share and accurately describe your contribution. By publishing, you give NoGate permission to store, convert, and display your profile and submitted media on NoGate Artists while you choose to publish it. Separate permission is needed for unrelated advertising or promotional features. No rights are sold or transferred by joining.

Messaging and conduct

Messages remain in NoGate’s private database and are available only to conversation participants. Email notices direct you to the inbox and do not include message text or expose your email to another artist. NoGate can review a message you explicitly report; the owner does not have a general member-message inbox. No harassment, impersonation, scams, stolen material, or unsolicited bulk promotion. Blocking stops further messages between those accounts. Reports are reviewed by NoGate. Accounts may be restricted for abuse. Short burst and authentication controls prevent misuse; they are not paid tiers or membership message quotas.

What is public and private

A published active profile, city and state, remote collaboration preference, biography, availability, and media can be viewed publicly and shared. ZIP codes, email, passwords, sessions, private messages, and submissions are not public. ZIP codes are stored privately for location planning; they are not published or used for a distance search in this initial version. NoGate stores your account/profile, media, message history, consent version/time, applications, service inquiries, and moderation records. Passwords are salted and hashed. Artists uses separate accounts from Studio; NoGate’s existing owner credentials control its management area.

Email verification, password reset, availability reminders, submission-response notices, and message notifications use NoGate’s existing mail delivery service. No artist content is sent to an AI provider. Do not put private contact details into a public biography or recording description.

Hiding and deletion

Hiding removes your profile and media from public access while preserving them for your own account. Closing your account removes public media and account access, anonymizes the profile and email, removes your submissions, and removes the bodies of messages you sent. Other participants’ messages remain in their conversation history. Limited report, consent, and moderation/audit records remain for handling abuse and ownership disputes. The two most recent daily backups may retain earlier data until rotated; they do not restore a closed account as part of ordinary operation.
